People are acting like he has committed some football crime just because he does not want the exact move they fancied for him and I do not buy that at all, if a player decides he wants a different league or a different lifestyle then that is his call and I can respect it even if I would not make the same choice, not every career has to be a ladder straight to the top and not every good player owes the internet a Champions League fairy tale, sometimes a bloke just wants to be happy and get paid and stop having everyone tell him what his ambition should look like, and honestly the abuse some of these lads get for choosing differently is ridiculous, the same fans who spend all day calling players mercenaries would probably do the same thing if they had the chance and they know it
 
This is exactly why people get so wound up about modern football. On one hand, he is entitled to choose what suits him, and on the other hand, fans are allowed to look at it and think it is a waste of talent. If he really wants Turkey only, then fine, but it does make all the big talk around him look a bit hollow and that is where the frustration comes from, because everyone knows what kind of player he could be if he actually cared enough and now it just feels like another story of a gifted footballer choosing the easy road and people are supposed to clap like it is some brave life decision and honestly it does my head in

I honestly thought he would end up somewhere much bigger than this so it is a bit of a shock, not even for football reasons just because the whole thing feels so random, one minute he is a top name and the next he is apparently saying Turkey or nothing and I cant quite get my head around it
 
Nah I think people are overdoing it with the wasted talent stuff, he is still making his own choice and that does not automatically mean he has no drive, some players just do not value the same things fans do
 
It feels like he has decided on lifestyle first and football second, which is why the reaction is so strong. Fans want the big move and the big statement, but he seems far more interested in what suits him personally imo
