Didier Deschamps says Kylian Mbappe is 100% fit for the World Cup semi final, which probably surprised absolutely nobody. If there was ever a game he was going to be available for, it was this one

Feels like a very obvious update but still the kind of thing that gets everyone talking because of what is at stake. France with Mbappe available is a completely different proposition and you can see why people were already assuming he would play

The real question now is whether he is actually fully right, or just fully fit enough to start and cause chaos for the other side

I remember watching him in these huge games and thinking he just looks like he knows what matters more than everyone else around him, if he is fit then France are instantly about ten times scarier and that is before he even touches the ball
 
he was never gonna miss it was he this is the sort of game players dream about and mbappe loves the spotlight so much it wouldve been a miracle if he sat out
 
Everyone acting surprised like the whole tournament wasnt building to this exact moment, he is the biggest name there and the semi final is the game that matters most so of course hes gonna be out there trying to make it all about him, proper main character stuff and you either love it or hate it
 
Went to the pub with a mate during the last World Cup and the whole place was basically split between people wanting France to win because of Mbappe and people wanting him nowhere near the final third because he ruins every game plan, and honestly thats what makes news like this funny because it is never just about fitness with him it is about whether the whole match becomes the Mbappe show, and if youve ever watched a team spend ninety minutes trying to stop one lad and still fail then you know exactly why everyone is already miserable about it, absolute nightmare for whoever has to deal with him and I can already hear the excuses starting if he scores
 
People are acting like this means France have already won and I just do not get it, football is still a team game and one player being fit does not magically solve everything, the other side still has to worry about shape, discipline, and actually keeping the ball, and Mbappe can be as fit as you like but if the rest of the side do not turn up then it means nothing, which is why I hate this automatic panic every time his name gets mentioned because it turns into some myth that the opposition should just pack up and go home and that is bollocks
