The interesting part is how little time he needed once the ball reached him because that is the real difference with players like this, they do not need a long sequence to take over a match. But then of course the conversation online immediately becomes about everything else, from the officiating to whether the defence should have done more to the thousandth version of the same joke about him scoring the same goal again, and that is fair because football threads always go that way, but it does feel like the actual quality of the moment gets buried under noise sometimes. Still, when a player can produce something that makes both fans and neutrals stop whatever they are doing, you have to admit it is special and it says a lot that people are already talking about history and records and all that before the dust has even settled

The funniest part is the same people acting shocked every time like they didnt spend the last fifteen years watching him do exactly this and then when he scores again they all start screaming record this record that and suddenly its the greatest thing ever which fair enough it is but come on lads he has been doing this forever
