Mourinho back to Real Madrid

People are way too quick to say this is doomed, he has won big at clubs where the noise was just as bad and the idea that he instantly becomes useless because its Madrid again is lazy imo, if the squad listens then this could still be a proper problem for everyone else
 
I do not think this is as simple as nostalgia or disaster. It depends entirely on whether the squad buys into his methods, and that is the real unknown.
 
I know everyone is already writing this off as a meme appointment but I think that is a bit unfair to Mourinho and to Madrid as well because he is still one of the few managers who can walk into a massive club and instantly understand the pressure cooker, the media, the expectations, all of it, and if he gets even a half decent response from the dressing room then this can still become a very hard team to play against, people act like he is completely finished because the style is not fashionable anymore but being unfashionable does not mean being incapable, and Madrid are not exactly a club that needs a lecture on aesthetics when the whole point is winning and surviving the noise, so I would not be so quick to dismiss it because the guy has built his whole career on people underestimating him and then getting annoyed when he proves them wrong, and frankly I would rather watch that than another bland safe appointment that nobody remembers by Christmas
 
There is a real chance this works because he is one of the few managers who can still impose a clear identity very quickly. There is also a real chance it turns into a complete soap opera, which is probably why everyone is so interested.
 
The officials are going to have a nightmare with this because every press conference is going to be a new grievance, every bad decision is going to become a headline, and every little thing that happens on the pitch will be turned into a month long complaint cycle and it is not even just Mourinho because Madrid will feed it as well, they always do, so you already know the refs are going to be dragged into the middle of it whether they like it or not and then the whole league gets sucked into the circus and everyone acts surprised like this isnt exactly what people wanted from the moment the rumour started
