There is an argument that the reaction is being judged more harshly because it happened in public and because people already had an opinion on him, and that is fair enough, but the problem is he keeps creating these moments where he invites the scrutiny and then acts shocked when it lands on him, and at some point the criticism stops being about one clip and starts being about the whole pattern of behaviour, the constant fronting up, the constant need to be seen, the constant self importance, and I think that is why so many people are not just laughing but almost relieved to see him brought down a peg because they feel like he has been asking for it for years and years and now he is sat there in tears while everyone else says well there you go then
