Norway's squad rowing through Oslo

Some people are acting like this is some kind of crime against football when really it is just a bunch of people having a laugh and celebrating together, which is a lot better than the usual moaning you get online where everyone thinks they are above joy and has to tell the world how cringe they find everything, absolutely tragic behaviour

The interesting part here is that it only works because it feels like a shared national moment rather than a forced sponsor event or some empty PR exercise, and that makes a huge difference. Norway have managed to make it look both organised and slightly ridiculous in the best possible way, which is why people are reacting to it so strongly. Then you get the usual internet divide where half the replies are loving the spectacle and half are acting like theyve been personally offended by a bit of rowing, and honestly that tells you more about online football discourse than it does about the clip itself because some people simply cannot let anyone enjoy anything without trying to kill the mood and it is exhausting

This has me proper grinning tbh, you do not often see a football celebration that feels this open and cheerful and it just makes the whole thing look massive, the crowd in front of the palace absolutely sells it

It is a clever bit of pageantry because it gives the fans something visual to latch onto and turns a celebration into a shared performance. The key is that the players seem willing rather than awkward, which is why it reads as fun instead of forced.

If you are going to pick on one player from a clip like this then you might as well admit you were never going to enjoy it anyway because the whole point is the collective moment and not whether one lad looks perfectly delighted for every second of it, people are being ridiculous about body language and facial expressions as if every footballer has to be performing for their approval at all times, he is there, he is part of it, the crowd is there, the palace is there, the whole thing is happening and yet people still find a way to moan about one bloke looking slightly off and it is honestly embarrassing how desperate some fans are to suck the joy out of everything

Fair play to them, it looks like a proper national moment. Some people will laugh at it, but it clearly means a lot to the fans and players.

Imagine being the one bloke in the pub trying to act above it all while everyone else is loving the chaos because thats exactly what this is, a big silly bit of football theatre and the sort of thing you tell your mate about later like yeah mate Norway had the whole palace doing rowing drills and it was class, absolute scenes
