Ochoa in tears after England game

If you want to talk about why this ended badly you have to look at the player who kept trying to force the same thing over and over and over and it just wasnt there on the night, every time the move needed calm he went for the flashy option and it kept breaking down, that kind of thing drains a team because everyone else starts chasing the game and losing shape, and then by the end youve got people in tears and fans acting like it was some grand injustice when really it was a self inflicted mess and that one player should be taking a lot more stick than he is because he kept making the wrong decision at the worst possible time and it completely killed the momentum

ochoa looks absolutely gutted and you can see why because when you get that close and know the whole thing was there to be taken it must feel horrible, england werent even that convincing and mexico still couldnt make the moment count which is the part that will haunt them for ages

People are acting like this was some impossible mountain but England were there for the taking and Mexico just did not go for it hard enough, thats the bit that annoys me because if you are one goal away and youve got the extra man and the other side has already taken off Kane then you have to smell blood and go straight at them, instead it turned into half chances and waiting and hoping and then the tears come after because everyone knows the chance was real, and now the comments are full of nonsense about curses and luck when really football is usually just about who is braver in the moment and Mexico werent brave enough and thats why it ended like this

The key moment is probably the transition after England lost Kane, because that should have changed the game state completely. Mexico needed more runners beyond the first line and a quicker first pass, otherwise the extra man means nothing if you still play in front of them
