this is why i cant take transfer news seriously anymore one minute hes staying the next minute hes off and every outlet acts like they know the truth when they clearly dont
 
The key detail is the contract. Bayern do not have to entertain anything unless the player forces the issue, and even then they are in a strong position. The bigger problem is that the reporting has already become contradictory, so it is hard to separate genuine movement from noise.
 
My first thought is that this is exactly the kind of story that gets amplified because it involves Real Madrid and a highly rated player, and once that combination is there every journalist and fan account piles in and the thing becomes bigger than the actual facts. Bayern are not a club that usually panic over these situations, and with a long contract there is no obvious reason for them to do so here either. But then you read the bit about him talking to France teammates and suddenly it all starts to sound like one of those stories that has just enough detail to keep people hooked even if nobody really knows the full picture, and that is the problem because now everyone is arguing about who said what, which club he likes, what his real intentions are, and whether Madrid are even serious, and it becomes impossible to tell where the actual news ends and the fan fiction begins
