Palace win the Conference League

glad for palace honestly theyve had a mad run of it and glasner has turned them into a proper unit, people will talk about the competition but the players still had to keep their heads and get it done which is never as easy as it looks

Tyrick Mitchell was outstanding and i dont care if people want to talk about the shiny trophy and the bigger names because that sort of running and commitment is what wins these games, he was everywhere and it felt like he just refused to let anything go past him, proper night for him and the kind of performance that fans remember for years, not the flashy stuff, the graft, the digging in, the bit where you are exhausted and still finding another sprint, thats what makes a player loved and he absolutely earned it

Palace being European champions is wild but also kind of fitting if you think about how their run has gone under Glasner, theyve just kept finding ways to make it happen and that matters in cup football more than all the talk around budgets imo

There is a pattern here with English clubs in these competitions. The financial gap gives them a big advantage, but Palace still had to stay disciplined and take the tournament seriously. That part should not be ignored.

Palace looked like a side that knew exactly how to manage the tie and that is usually what separates winners from nearly teams in these competitions, compact shape, patience and enough quality when it mattered, simple as that.

some of you lot are acting like palace were handed the trophy in a brown paper bag when they still had to go and win the thing which is funny because if your club did it youd be calling it a masterclass all week

A lot of the praise should go to the coaching because Palace have clearly become a much harder side to play against and that is what gets you through these European nights, but I do think people are also using this as another excuse to bang on about the Premier League like it is some unstoppable machine and maybe it is in financial terms, yet football is still full of weird little moments where organisation beats reputation, and that is why this result matters, because it proves a well run club can still put together something special even when the headlines are all about money and chaos and complaints and then everyone starts arguing about whether the competition counts and honestly who cares, the fans care and that is enough

i was in the pub when the final whistle went and there was this one palace lad at the bar who had been quiet all night just staring at his pint and when it finished he just stood up like he could not believe it and hugged three randoms and nearly knocked over a stool and the whole place started laughing and clapping and thats football really, proper daft emotional nonsense and i love it when a club gets a night like this because some bloke you have never met suddenly looks like hes won the lottery
