Pep Guardiola: “I lost my hair!” after City’s 9-goal chaos vs Fulham

That long rant about Yer Da nostalgia goblins in the comments was spot on. Half the people who say Pep ruined the game also claim teams from the 90s would run over today which makes no sense physically.

romania leagues prep for the weekend and I keep seeing coaches trying budget Pep ball with centre backs that panic whenever the ball is at their feet. that is not his fault, that is copycats doing cosplay.

On the odds side, this is why you never trust big lead handicaps when City start rotating. Once Nico left, live lines for Fulham goals were pure gold if you believed the eye test from the first minutes.

Hair chat in there got way too real. Lads explaining DHT windows and fifteen year cycles had me checking my own hairline between scrolling. Pep losing it all in his late thirties is nightmare fuel 😂

The funniest subthread is the poor guy with perfect hair at thirty panicking because everyone his age is shedding. Someone tell him if he made it past 30 with full coverage he is probably winning the genetics game.

The whole he just shaves it take makes me laugh. You can clearly see the top is gone. Same way you can see a defensive line collapsing, no amount of philosophy changes that visual.

As a Sunderland fan I felt personally attacked by the comment about thoughts and prayers for us. If City are defending like that in our tie I either lose ten years of my life or we get the funniest upset ever.

Liverpool supporter here. That opening line about getting the laughs out now felt exactly like what Klopp used to do. Crack a joke for the cameras, then go ballistic in the video room.

city accas with over 2 point 5 are going to be auto clicks if this manic phase lasts. the problem is at some point he tightens the screws and everyone still betting goals gets cooked

Underdog bettor perspective. Fulham putting four past them and still not even nicking a draw is a brutal reminder of variance. You can read the game right and the elite talent still ruins your ticket.

Neutrals calling it one of the games of the season are right. You get insane shots, late drama, Pep memes, and tactical discourse about pivots and press resistance all in one package.

As the resident draw specialist I have to say this would have been the most deserved 4 4 of all time. Shame for Fulham lads, they really clawed back into it only to get nothing.

Valencia old head here. People forget plenty of sides played possession heavy long before Pep. He just reduced the randomness and added structure. The idea that he alone made football sterile is silly.

The way someone compared it to Stephen Curry ruining basketball made me smile. You change the maths of the sport and suddenly everyone copies you and then blames you when they do it badly.

Corner bettor reporting in. That kind of end to end madness is peak market for live corners and shots. Every time City lost the ball you could almost pre write the counter attack.

my favourite bit is still the guy who went to sleep at 1 4 thinking the job was done. you just know he woke up, saw 4 5, and wondered if the app was bugged

Small detail I loved from the comments was people pointing out Josko clearing that last chance. In chaos games you still need one defender with the presence of mind to be on the line at the right time.

That line about City already buying all the defenders in Europe so Arsenal have nobody left to sign is so painfully accurate. Every time a centre back turns good they somehow end up on Pep’s radar.

The coal mine metaphor is elite. Happy relaxed Pep complimenting opponents before big games has been warning sign for years. He only does it when he knows his own team is about to go into killer mode.

someone calling him a bald fraud after a five goal win is peak internet. you can dominate a league for a decade and one mad defensive showing still makes people type the same old line
