That long rant about Yer Da nostalgia goblins in the comments was spot on. Half the people who say Pep ruined the game also claim teams from the 90s would run over today which makes no sense physically.
 
romania leagues prep for the weekend and I keep seeing coaches trying budget Pep ball with centre backs that panic whenever the ball is at their feet. that is not his fault, that is copycats doing cosplay.

As the resident draw specialist I have to say this would have been the most deserved 4 4 of all time. Shame for Fulham lads, they really clawed back into it only to get nothing.
 
Valencia old head here. People forget plenty of sides played possession heavy long before Pep. He just reduced the randomness and added structure. The idea that he alone made football sterile is silly.

The coal mine metaphor is elite. Happy relaxed Pep complimenting opponents before big games has been warning sign for years. He only does it when he knows his own team is about to go into killer mode.
