PSG already resting Dembélé after one league game

I do not think people give PSG enough credit for how hard it is to keep a squad like that happy and functional because it is easy to say they are just buying dominance but there is still an art to rotating stars, managing egos and making sure nobody feels slighted while keeping the team level high enough to win every week and that is not nothing, especially when everyone is waiting to jump on them the second a player gets rested or leaves a game early and the whole thing gets turned into a joke when it is actually a very deliberate way of protecting their best players and making sure they are fresh when the pressure really comes and if other clubs had that level of depth they would do the same thing
 
it just shows how much of a luxury psg have got compared to everyone else and people act like theyre somehow cheating football when really theyre just using the squad theyve got in the smartest way possible
 
reminds me of the time i was in the pub with a mate and he was going on about how his sunday side had three lads who were always injured and one bloke who only turned up when the weather was nice and i said that sounds like a proper psg forward line and the whole table lost it because thats exactly what this feels like, a player who needs to be preserved like a pint glass on a sticky table while the rest of the league just goes about its business and every week you hear the same chat about load management and peak fitness and all that but in reality it just means some clubs can afford to treat football like a long holiday and others cant
 
There is a reasonable argument that this is just smart squad management and not some outrageous scandal because if a club knows a player needs careful handling then doing it early can save a lot of trouble later on, but the problem is that PSG have created an environment where every sensible decision also looks ridiculous from the outside because they are so far ahead domestically that the line between caution and complacency gets blurred and then people start talking about the league being dead and the player only needing to show up for a few months and all that, and once you are in that conversation it is hard to escape it because the joke writes itself and then everyone starts dragging in the usual stuff about how easy Ligue 1 is and how the real season begins in spring and before you know it the actual football discussion has turned into a meme about rest days and Ballon d'Or nonsense and that probably says more about the club than the player
