people are going on like possession means everything but if you spend 120 minutes chasing shadows then of course the numbers are gonna look grim and honestly arsenal never looked like they had a proper plan once the game got stretched and that is the part that will hurt the most because the whole night just felt like they were waiting for a moment that never came

I mean if you are an Arsenal fan you are obviously going to be furious but I do think some people are being way too harsh on them because finals can turn into this horrible tactical trap where one side just refuses to let the other breathe and suddenly every attack looks dead before it starts and that does not always mean the losing side were completely useless, sometimes the opponent is just better at squeezing space and making you play ugly football, and PSG deserve credit for that if that is what happened, but the way people are now acting like Arsenal should have just turned up and played champagne football for 120 minutes is ridiculous because that is not how these games work and the pressure alone can kill the flow, so yes the stats look awful, yes it is painful, but there is a difference between being outclassed and being made to look toothless by a team that knows exactly how to manage a final and that distinction matters even if nobody wants to hear it right now
 
i was half watching and half trying not to get too invested but once the penalties started i was fully locked in and then that stutter stuff happened and i just put my head in my hands because you knew straight away the whole internet was going to go mad about it and here we are
