Ronaldo shouting "I'M BACK"

Bit of absolute theatre from Ronaldo again, shouting at the camera after the game and saying he is back. You either love that sort of thing or you think it is pure cringe, there is no in between really

It has got proper meme energy as well, because the whole thing feels like peak Ronaldo, all swagger and self belief even when people are ready to take the piss. For some lads that is exactly why he has been such a massive figure for so long

At the same time, you can see why others are rolling their eyes at it. Football never misses a chance to turn into a one-man show and this was about as on-brand as it gets

Say what you want but the bloke has always backed himself and that is part of why he is who he is, people act like confidence is some crime now and then jump on him the second he says a word, he has had an entire career of carrying pressure and being the main story and this is just another bit of him leaning into it, if you are a fan you probably grin at it and if you hate him you were always going to moan no matter what he did

The whole thing is exactly why he is still talked about like this though isnt it, because he knows how to turn even a throwaway post game moment into a headline and a thousand clips and everyone pretending they are above it when really they are all watching it and laughing or raging or both, he has been doing this for years and people still fall for the same act every single time, the confidence, the pose, the camera stuff, it is all part of the same package and whether you think it is genius or unbearable you cannot deny it gets everyone talking and that is half the battle with him

he knows exactly what he is doing tbh its not even about the words its the whole persona and people bite every time because they want to either worship it or hate it and he feeds off that

The interesting bit is not the phrase itself, it is how quickly he can still make a tiny moment feel massive. That sort of self-belief can be a weapon, especially when everyone is waiting to pounce on him.

Its peak Ronaldo really, because the line between confidence and pure theatre has always been part of the appeal and he knows exactly how to press that button when the cameras are there, imo

i cant even lie i laughed when i saw it because it is so over the top and so him, you just know he heard the camera was there and decided to make it a moment and honestly fair enough if you can still do that at his age

What gets me is the way every tiny bit of body language from him gets turned into a massive debate and then the officials and the broadcast crew and the whole circus around the game just feed it even more because they love having a character to focus on, one camera angle, one shout, and suddenly everyone is acting like it means something huge when half the time it is just theatre and the other half it is people projecting all their own nonsense onto it and then acting shocked when he leans into being the main event
