Bukayo Saka liking a post that had Tuchel on fraud watch has kicked off exactly the kind of chaos you would expect. It might have been an accident, it might have been the image not the caption, but either way it has given everyone something to chew on.

The timing makes it even messier because people are already talking about Tuchel's decisions, especially the Saka situation and the Argentina game. Whether this means anything or not, it has definitely lit the fuse again.

Feels like one of those moments where social media does more damage than the football itself. Still, you can see why fans are running with it, because the whole thing is pure drama.
 
If you look at it properly, the most likely explanation is still that he saw the image and not the caption, because that happens all the time on Instagram, people tap like without reading the full thing and then suddenly everyone is treating it like a declaration of war. But even then, the context makes it funny as hell. The Saka situation has already got people annoyed and then this lands right in the middle of it, so of course it blows up. Football discourse is absolutely cooked, every tiny thing becomes a referendum on the manager, the player, the whole setup, and now we are all pretending a double tap on a post is some deep political statement. Still, I cannot lie, it is absolutely brilliant chaos and Tuchel is going to be catching strays for days, which is exactly why this sport never lets anyone breathe
 
If you want the tactical angle then the weird bit is not the like its the optics around Saka and how this whole thing feeds into the idea that the attack was set up badly with too much caution and not enough trust in the wide players, you can see why people are annoyed when a player like that is apparently good enough to start today but not against Argentina
 
I think people are overreading it a bit, but the timing is still awful for Tuchel because the Argentina decision is already being picked apart. If Saka was fit enough to play now, then people are always going to ask why he wasnt used before, and social media just makes the noise louder imo
 
He probably just double tapped and moved on with his day while everyone else is building a court case out of it and now Tuchel has got half the internet in his mentions acting like theyve cracked the code and its killing me
 
The main issue is still the underlying selection debate, because if a player like Saka can influence a game and then barely features in the biggest moment, people are always going to question the logic. That is the sort of decision that sticks in the memory far more than any one result, and once fans decide a coach is making odd calls everything else gets filtered through that lens. But then football fans also turn every social media interaction into a conspiracy and suddenly a like becomes a headline, a headline becomes a feud, and a feud becomes some huge identity crisis for the whole setup. It is ridiculous really, but also very funny, and that is the curse of modern football discourse
 
Honestly this is exactly why social media has become a complete circus because one little like and suddenly everyone is making up stories about what it means and who is upset and who is taking shots at who and whether the caption was changed or not and if it was a burner or if the pr team forgot to log out and it all gets treated like some massive scandal when it could just be a bloke tapping a picture on his phone without thinking, but at the same time the football context is what makes it explode because people are already angry about the Argentina thing and about who played and who didnt and why some players get trusted and others dont so now everything gets dragged into the same mess and the whole thing is just pure internet nonsense and I am absolutely here for every second of it because it is hilarious and stupid and exactly the sort of thing that keeps football fans arguing until the early hours
 
The reaction makes sense because the Argentina decision is already a sore point. Even if the like was accidental, it lands badly when people are questioning the manager's judgement anyway. That is why this has taken off so quickly.
