Salah and Besiktas? Absolute scenes

If this is true then that is one of the wildest moves of the summer. Salah to Besiktas is not exactly the path anyone had pencilled in, but it does feel very on-brand for football to throw up something completely unhinged like this.

The money being talked about is a bit mad for a free transfer, and the idea of him ending up in Turkey instead of Saudi, Italy or La Liga has caught everyone off guard. Besiktas fans must be buzzing if this actually lands, because that is a serious statement signing.

At the same time, it does make a bit of sense when you think about the city, the atmosphere and the chance to still play big football. Still, this has proper “wait, what?” energy all over it.

Honestly, if you strip away the shock factor, this is the kind of move that makes a lot of sense for a player like Salah. He has already won everything, he does not need to chase some random league for the sake of it, and Turkey offers a huge stage, proper support and a club where he would instantly be the main man. The city alone would be enough to tempt a lot of players, and Besiktas have that atmosphere that makes every week feel like a big occasion. But still, seeing his name linked there just does your head in because you expect Saudi or maybe one last big European swing and instead it is Besiktas and now everyone is losing their minds over it, absolute madness, proper madness, how do these things even happen, football is cooked sometimes

If this happens then Besiktas are not just getting a name they are getting a whole attacking gravity well because every defender has to respect Salah and that opens space everywhere else, the league will hate it but the rest of us will eat it up, proper chaos move

i cant believe we are even talking about salah to besiktas this feels like one of those fake rumours you scroll past and then suddenly it is actually got legs and everyone is sat there like nah no chance but then the quotes start and the money starts getting mentioned and you just know some club has decided to do something stupid and brilliant at the same time and honestly fair play because turkish clubs always come out of nowhere and ruin every normal transfer window with pure madness and now all i can think about is him turning up in that shirt and the whole internet melting down because who on earth saw this coming

The officials of the football world must have lost their minds if this goes through because how does a deal like this even get sorted without half the people involved asking what the actual plan is, the numbers the timing the whole thing it just screams chaos and then everyone will act surprised like they did not see it coming when it was staring them in the face the whole time, proper circus stuff

People are acting like this is some romantic football ending but it is also just hilarious because the second Besiktas get linked with a superstar everyone starts pretending they had some grand plan all along when really it is just a giant flex and a bit of a gamble, still funny though because Salah in Turkey sounds like a fever dream

I get why people are laughing and calling it wild but I do think there is a bit of disrespect in how quickly everyone writes off Turkey as if it is some retirement home for players who have nothing left, Besiktas are a huge club with proper support and Istanbul is a massive place, and for a player like Salah who has already done the elite European grind there is something appealing about being the centre of everything rather than just another name in a Saudi project or a sideways move to somewhere quieter, and if he wants one last big chapter then why should anyone tell him no, let the man choose what suits him and stop acting like every move has to be judged by the same boring script

It is a surprising move, but it is not hard to see the appeal. Besiktas get a huge name and Salah gets a club where he would be instantly central. The only real question is whether the finances and expectations match the hype.
