Salah and Besiktas? Absolute scenes

This would be a major coup for Besiktas and a strong move for Salah if he wants status and atmosphere over pure glamour. The key issue is whether the reported wages are enough to convince everyone involved, because the football side of it is easy to understand.
 
From a tactical point of view, Besiktas would be getting a player who changes how opponents defend immediately. Even at this stage, Salah would force teams to sit deeper and that creates space for everyone else.
 
i remember being in the pub when the first rumour about one of these huge late career moves came up and everyone just laughed it off then by the time the pints were gone it was actually happening and the place went mental and that is exactly the kind of feeling this has because you start off thinking nah that cannot be real and then you keep checking your phone and the whole room is reacting like someone has scored in the last minute and suddenly you are arguing about wages and contract lengths with lads you do not even know and it becomes one of those nights you remember because football has a way of turning complete nonsense into history and this feels like one of those moments again
 
If the agreement is real then it is one of the more interesting transfers of the window because it combines money, status and fit in a way that actually makes sense. But football online will of course turn it into a joke within five minutes, and now I am just imagining the meltdown from everyone who wanted a different league and the inevitable think pieces about legacy and ambition and then I get annoyed because why cant people just let a mad transfer be a mad transfer instead of acting like they have to win the internet every single time ffs
 
A move like this would probably tell us more about modern football than about Salah himself. The game keeps rewarding clubs that can offer status, money and atmosphere all at once, and Besiktas can clearly sell that. Anyway I have now spent ten minutes thinking about Turkish stadium atmospheres, the price of kebabs, and whether every big transfer somehow ends up as a meme, which is not a normal chain of thought but here we are
 
It is not the destination I would have guessed, but I can see the logic behind it. Besiktas would give him a huge platform and a proper footballing spotlight, imo
 
If this is actually Salah then I need someone to explain what Besiktas are feeding these players because this club keeps popping up in the most ridiculous ways and every time it is like they have unlocked some secret transfer cheat code, and before anyone says it is a classy end to a career or some elegant footballing project let me stop you there because this is also just absolutely absurd and I cannot look at the idea of Salah in that shirt without laughing my head off, not because he is finished or anything like that but because the whole thing is so unexpected that it feels like a prank that somehow became real and now everyone is pretending this was normal all along
