Salah leaves Anfield for the final time

Salah leaving Anfield for the final time is a reminder of how quickly football eras pass. Liverpool will have to replace not just goals, but a constant threat that shaped how opponents defended against them.

What gets me is that people are still trying to make it into some debate when the man has already done the work on the pitch and the league is better for it and Liverpool are better for it and even rivals had to respect it eventually and now seeing him leave Anfield just feels wrong because you get used to certain players being part of the scenery and then they are gone and suddenly everyone is scrambling to explain why they were special when really you just had to watch him and know and now im sat here feeling weirdly emotional about a player i never even supported because thats what proper greats do they reach every fan base and make moments stick and yeah im probably being dramatic but it feels like a proper goodbye

From a tactical perspective, his value went beyond the obvious goals and assists. He changed how teams had to defend Liverpool, which is a huge part of why he stands out among modern forwards. That kind of gravity is rare.

How are the officials not making more of this though the whole thing has been treated like a normal substitution vibe when its clearly not normal at all and you get all these big moments for other players and then Salah walks off Anfield for the final time and it feels like the cameras are almost too calm about it and maybe im being dramatic but the league loves milking some things and then when a genuine giant leaves they just carry on like nothing happened and it winds me up because this should have had way more ceremony and weight and instead it just sort of passed by and that is mad to me

I swear every time I see a clip like this I get annoyed all over again because football just keeps moving and moving and one day a player is the face of the league and the next day its all past tense and everyone is pretending they fully appreciated it from the start and I know thats how it works and I know fans are dramatic and I know Liverpool people are probably losing their minds right now but still this one hurts because he was one of those names you just expected to see for years and years and now the chapter is shut and it feels like someone turned the lights off in a stadium that used to be full of noise
