Semenyo's filthy finish

The goal is impressive because it combines quick control with no hesitation. That kind of composure is what separates a good chance from a highlight reel finish.
 
Chelsea fans are obviously going to be fuming about it and fair enough because when you see your side get done like that it always feels worse than it probably is, but from the other angle you can tell why everyone is losing it over Semenyo because the finish is just so clean and the whole thing happens before anyone can properly process it and then the replies turn into a full on scrap about who should have done what and who is finished and who is clear of who and all that usual nonsense and honestly that is half the fun of these clips anyway
 
From a pure football point of view that is exactly the kind of finish you want to show young players because it is all about the first decision, the calm touch, and the confidence to hit it without overthinking. But then the emotional side kicks in and you just know every fan of the team on the wrong end of it is sitting there absolutely raging because it feels impossible to defend and somehow even worse to watch back, and I get it, I really do, because once the ball is gone like that there is no fixing it and no talking yourself into it being okay, it is just a brutal moment and you have to sit there and take it and that is football and it is infuriating and brilliant at the same time and I hate how much I love seeing goals like that because they are so good and so annoying and so unfair and the whole thing just makes you want to shout at the screen
 
I do not think it was just the defence collapsing. Semenyo still had to produce a very difficult finish.
 
people in here acting like they have never seen a proper finish before and suddenly everyone is a tactical genius because the camera angle makes it look even more savage, get a grip, the lad has absolutely smashed it and you can see why the clip is doing the rounds because it is one of those moments where the whole stadium just goes dead and the other lot are left looking like they have been mugged off in broad daylight
