Spurs agree Savinho deal

Spurs fans are either having a meltdown or preparing the biggest told you so of all time and im just here watching the chaos like its a netflix series
 
This feels like a classic case of paying for a profile rather than a finished product. If Spurs are convinced he gives them something they lack, the logic is there, but the fee means everyone will judge him on every touch from day one.
 
I dont think this is the worst overpay ever. It is still mad, but people are acting like every expensive signing is automatically a disaster.
 
cant lie i was expecting a normal winger fee and then i saw this and just stared at the screen for a minute like wtf are spurs doing honestly
 
People are acting like this is some secret scam but every big club does this when they really want a player and the selling side knows it so its not exactly shocking
 
If Spurs are really paying this much then the pressure on Savinho is going to be ridiculous and it is not even entirely his fault because he is being turned into a headline before he has kicked a ball for them, but people are going to watch every touch and every miss and every quiet game and start calling him another flop straight away, which is unfair but that is football now, and honestly the whole thing feels like the sort of move that can either make a player look like a genius purchase or drag him through the mud for two years, and the fee just makes it worse because everyone will keep saying record sale record sale like that changes whether he actually helps on the pitch
 
From a tactical point of view, Spurs are clearly paying for a specific attacking profile rather than pure numbers. If he gives them the width, dribbling and transition threat they want, the fee becomes easier to justify, but only if the rest of the team is built to benefit from it.
