Spurs hit five as Davies finishes Charlton off

I was in the pub when the notification came through and the whole table just lost it because someone shouted Tottenham five and then immediately someone else started going on about Savio like it was a family argument over the last chip and now ive got three lads on my screen arguing about whether Davies even touched it properly and honestly this is why football is brilliant because no one can just let a goal exist on its own everyone has to turn it into a debate and the bloke behind the bar was laughing his head off because he said we get more drama from a late fifth goal in a random cup tie than from half the league games we watch every week
 
There is a fair point buried in the joke here, which is that Savio seems to be involved in enough of these moments to keep getting mentioned. But then the thread immediately turns into people taking sides, and that is where it gets funny because suddenly a Ben Davies goal becomes a referendum on City, Spurs and the entire idea of end product, which is a bit much for one finish at 85 minutes and it spirals into the usual online football nonsense
 
People are acting like this is some massive revelation but the truth is the internet just loves swinging from one extreme to the other and it happens every single time a player gets involved in a goal or misses one and then everyone starts either calling him world class or complete rubbish and there is never any middle ground at all and now with Savio its the same circus again because one minute he is apparently the worst signing of the summer and the next minute everybody is shouting thanks city like he has solved football and honestly it is exhausting watching the same cycle repeat itself over and over again
 
I wouldnt even call this a Savio masterclass, its just people desperate to force a narrative because the goal went in and suddenly everyone wants to sound clever about end product and winger usage like theyve been in the dressing room all week
 
People need to stop pretending Charlton being 5-0 down means there is nothing to say about the performance because even in a heavy scoreline there are ways to lose with some dignity and I think they have probably had to chase shadows all night and just been punished by a team that is moving the ball well and making everything look easy, and if Ben Davies is the one finishing at the end then fair play to him because defenders scoring is always a nice moment, but I will also say Charlton should not be getting mocked to death for it because these games can snowball fast and once the confidence goes it is horrible, absolutely horrible, and anyone who has been on the end of one of those nights knows it is not as simple as people making it sound in the comments
 
The scoreline suggests Tottenham have been comfortable for a while. The comments are more focused on Savio than the goal itself.
