That Jonathan Tah disallowed goal has kicked off a proper debate. At 103', the goal goes in and then gets wiped out, and you can already tell by the comments that half the internet thinks it is soft and the other half thinks it is exactly the sort of thing officials should be stopping.

What stands out most is the keeper contact angle. Some are saying it is embarrassing and overblown, others are pointing out that if you wrap your arms around the goalkeeper you are basically asking for trouble. There is also the usual frustration about consistency, because people see this sort of stuff happen all the time on corners and wonder why it only gets punished sometimes.

Either way, it is one of those moments that gets everyone arguing about the laws rather than the football. Absolute scenes, really.

I get why people are calling it soft, but if the whole point is to stop the keeper getting anywhere near the ball then the officials are always going to look at it. It is annoying when it happens at corners all the time, but this one was never going to be ignored imo

Tah mate what are you doing there honestly you have got the keeper in a headlock like youre in the pub queue trying to save your pint and then everyone acts shocked when it gets chalked off its embarrassing football IQ really because even if you think the ref is a soft touch why are you giving him the chance to ruin your night just stand your ground and attack the ball instead of doing that daft wrestling move and then waving your arms like youve been robbed absolute clown behaviour from a player at this level

This is exactly why people are fed up with corners and set pieces because every single one turns into a scrap and then someone is grabbing the keeper, tugging shirts, leaning all over people and acting like its normal and then when the ref actually gives something everyone loses their minds like the laws came from nowhere, the whole thing is stupid but if you wrap both arms around the goalkeeper you are basically handing the officials an excuse and then you cant moan when the goal goes

People really acting like he was just standing there minding his business when he literally goes straight into the keeper and makes sure he cant move thats not some grand injustice thats just dumb play and the ref has every excuse to blow it up

I was in the pub the other week and there was a bloke who spent the entire night moaning about how the ref ruined his five a side because he got done for barging the keeper on a corner and this thread has the exact same energy as him honestly everyone acts like these decisions come from nowhere but if you make obvious contact with the keeper then what do you expect, the lads round me were shouting soft soft soft and then two minutes later they were all saying it was smart play because their team had done something similar earlier, football fans are hilarious when it happens to someone else but suddenly its a scandal when it happens to them and they start throwing chairs in the air and blaming the laws and the officials and the moon phase and whatever else

I dont buy the whole its just soft argument because if you let that go then every corner becomes a free for all and the keeper gets flattened every five seconds, people only want consistency when it benefits their side and then moan when the same standard gets used against them

I can see both sides but my first reaction was just disbelief because it looked like a goal in real time and then suddenly its gone and everyone is shouting, proper emotional swing in about ten seconds
