Tah goal ruled out after keeper block

The main point is that the attacking side has to know where the line is, and this looked close enough to that line for the referee to intervene. But the bigger conversation is the wider mess around set pieces, because every match seems to have some level of grappling, blocking and little nudges that go unpunished until one incident gets picked out and everyone explodes. Then people start shouting about the game's gone, the officials are useless, and the rulebook is broken, when really the players have spent years pushing the limits and now they are surprised the limits are being enforced

The officials have completely lost the plot here because if that is the standard then half of every corner in football should be stopped and yet we only ever see it when someone scores a big late goal and suddenly everyone remembers they can use the whistle, meanwhile the rest of the match has been full of pushing, pulling, blocking and all sorts of rubbish that goes unpunished and the referee picks this moment to intervene which is exactly why fans are furious because it feels like a random power trip rather than proper game management and the more they let things boil over the more ridiculous it becomes and then they wonder why everyone thinks the officials are making it up as they go along

There is a reasonable argument both ways here. The contact is not violent, but it does appear to affect the goalkeeper's movement, which is usually enough for officials to step in. The frustration comes from how unevenly similar incidents are judged from one match to the next.

If you strip away the emotions, this is mostly about whether the contact on the goalkeeper meaningfully prevents him from playing the ball, and on that basis I can understand the decision. The problem is that football has trained everyone to expect all sorts of shoving and grappling at corners, so when one incident finally gets punished it feels out of nowhere and everyone starts screaming about the game being gone. That said, players have to stop doing this nonsense if they do not want to be punished, because wrapping up the keeper and then acting amazed when the goal is disallowed is just stupid, and the officials are never going to have a clean night if the box keeps turning into a wrestling ring and people keep pretending they didnt know the rules applied to them
