UEFA and CONCACAF have apparently started talks about a combined Nations League style competition involving all of their countries, which is a pretty mad move when you think about it. On one hand it sounds like a decent way to get more meaningful games for teams that do not get much regular competitive football.
On the other hand, it feels like another example of football bodies making up new tournaments while pretending it is all about growth and development. Still, if it gives Caribbean sides, the better CONCACAF nations, and a few European teams something fresh to play for, it could actually be more interesting than people expect.
The big question is whether this is a genuinely good idea for the game or just another power play aimed at FIFA. And if it does happen, how on earth would they even structure it?
