The tactical upside is obvious if this becomes a genuine competitive tournament because more games against different styles should help teams adapt, especially the better CONCACAF sides that rarely get consistent opposition of that level, but the problem is whether the format encourages proper games or just produces a load of cautious fixtures where nobody wants to take risks and everyone treats it like a burden, and once you factor in travel and player fatigue you can see how quickly it could become a nightmare if they are not careful and then the whole thing turns into another argument about calendars instead of football

It sounds ridiculous at first, but I can see the logic. More competitive fixtures for smaller nations is a real benefit, and a combined tournament could be genuinely interesting if the structure is not a mess tbh
