United land Tielemans for £35m

The interesting part here is not just the fee but how rare it is for United to look this calm about a target and that alone is why people are reacting like this is some kind of breakthrough because theyve spent years turning every move into a soap opera and now suddenly its just a clause and a competent midfielder and everyone is losing their minds over basic competence and fair enough because it is United after all and normal service usually means chaos but if this is the start of them actually identifying proper value then other clubs should be worried and also slightly embarrassed because this is exactly the sort of thing they should have been doing ages ago and instead we all had to sit through endless nonsense and now the mood is like bloody hell theyve actually done something sensible for once
 
I remember being in the pub when a mate of mine swore blind that Tielemans was going to end up at a different club and everyone was arguing over who had the better pull and then the whole conversation turned into one of those ridiculous football nights where no one agrees on anything and some lad keeps saying its all about project and another lad says money talks and by the end we were half watching the telly and half taking the piss out of each other and this one feels like that because United fans are suddenly acting very grown up about a signing while Villa fans are looking like theyve just had the last pint knocked out of their hand and honestly I cant blame either side because this is exactly the sort of transfer that makes a room go loud very quickly
