Vini Jr dive vs Espanyol

It was a poor dive and a poor moment, but I do think the referee has to take some responsibility for letting the game get to that point. If the standard is inconsistent, players will keep testing it.
 
The officials are the real story here because if you are already on a yellow and there is any doubt at all then you need to be decisive and this ref just was not, and that is what drives everyone mad because the players learn very quickly where the line is and whether it is being enforced, so when you let one go and then punish another one later the whole match becomes chaos and people start screaming bias whether it is fair or not, but at the same time you cannot ignore how shameless that dive looked and how obvious it was that he was trying it on, so the ref has to be stronger and the player has to be better and instead we get this absolute mess where everyone leaves angry and the game gets turned into a debate about cards rather than football and honestly the officials need to take a long hard look at themselves because this sort of thing is getting ridiculous
 
i just sat there laughing and shaking my head because you know exactly what is coming with him now, he does something flashy, then a ridiculous fall, then half the internet is in flames and the other half is making excuses and i swear every time it happens it feels more surreal than the last one
