That is exactly the kind of moment Vinícius Júnior can produce when a game needs it. Brazil looked like they were going nowhere and then he just cuts through the noise with one bit of brilliance.

Morocco had been making it awkward and Brazil were not exactly flowing, so that goal feels massive in the context of the match. It is the sort of strike that reminds everyone why the best players can change everything in a second.

Also, fair play to anyone watching this as a neutral because it already feels like one of those games where the standout individual quality is doing all the talking. Brazil may need a lot more to come from the rest of the side though.
 
nah people acting like he carried the whole thing are overdoing it a bit, yeah the goal is brilliant but Brazil were still looking flat before that and one moment doesnt suddenly make the rest of the side look any better
 
Some of you lot are acting like the match was won by a single wizard from the heavens and not just a top player doing top player things, which is somehow both true and still hilarious because the rest of Brazil have been wandering about like they got lost on the way to training
 
The main thing there is the shape around him, because if everything is funnelled through Vini then you at least give yourself a chance to hurt Morocco in transition and stop asking the others to improvise when they clearly do not look comfortable
 
Brazil saw one shiny object and decided to build the whole attack around it, which honestly is fair enough because Vini looks like he can just drag the ball through three defenders and call it a strategy
 
People are so quick to pile on Brazil whenever they are not flying around like some perfect machine but the truth is they have a player here who can change a game with one touch and that has to count for something, it is not like Morocco have been standing still either they have made it difficult and kept their shape really well, so yes Brazil have looked a bit scrappy and yes the supporting cast has not exactly been sparkling, but when someone like Vinícius Júnior produces a finish like that you do not sit there acting like it means nothing, you recognise that elite quality can break open any match and that is exactly what happened there, the whole point of having players like him is that they can rescue you when the rest of the game is sticky and that is why he is so important for Brazil even when the structure around him is not ideal
 
Honestly I do not know why people were ready to write Brazil off after a few quiet minutes because football matches are not won by looking nice for half an hour they are won by someone stepping up when the space finally appears and that is exactly what Vini did there, he did not wait for the perfect build up he just took responsibility and smashed the moment to pieces and that is what the very best do, not every attack has to be some polished little pattern ending in a tap in, sometimes you just need a player who can make the whole stadium sit up and say oh bloody hell he has done it again and if the rest of Brazil had been a bit more switched on maybe they would have been miles ahead already but at least now they have someone who can pull them through when things look clunky and that matters more than people want to admit
 
Brazil were struggling to connect the midfield to the front line, so that goal matters beyond the finish itself. It gives them a reference point now, because everything should be running through Vini when he is in this mood.
 
Brazil have been pretty ordinary outside of that moment, but you can see why people want the ball at Vini's feet every time because he is the only one who looks capable of turning nothing into something, imo
 
It is a brilliant individual goal, but it also hides some of Brazil's issues. Morocco have been organised and Brazil have not always looked fluent, so one moment of quality does not fix everything. It does, however, show why Vini is such a huge weapon.
 
i was just sat here thinking this had 0-0 written all over it and then vini does that and now im shouting at the telly like a madman because you just know he can pull something from nowhere
