Witch doctor lifts Kane jinx after Ghana miss

It is easy to laugh at the curse angle, but there is a decent point underneath it. Football fans love stories that make sense of random events, and this is just another example of that. The actual game still comes down to the players, not the witch doctor, but the folklore makes it more entertaining.

Honestly this whole thing is peak football because one minute people are talking about structure and pressing and the next minute we are all discussing a curse on Harry Kane like it is normal, and the mad part is everyone just accepts it for the sake of the joke, which is fair enough because the joke is great, but also if you are a defender of Ghana then you are probably thinking why is this bloke even speaking now, why is he lifting anything, why is he announcing it after the miss, and then England fans are obviously sat there thinking keep your hands off it mate if the jinx is working then let it work, proper chaos from start to finish and I cannot believe this is where football is at

nah i dont buy the whole its just a joke thing because once people start making it about curses and jinxes they are clearly invested in more than banter, and kane getting dragged into it is just part of the usual pile on he gets whenever england struggle, its tired now

There is a sensible discussion to be had about how superstition and media noise affect players, especially someone like Kane who is always under a microscope. But then you read that a witch doctor who cursed him now wants to lift it after the Ghana miss and the whole thing just becomes pure madness, and honestly that is the point where I stop being sensible and start laughing like an idiot because football has fully lost the plot and I love it

i cant lie this has made my day because its so unbelievably stupid that it wraps back around to being brilliant, only football could have me taking a curse story seriously for ten seconds and then laughing at myself for believing the headline
