The bookies are right to favour Germany in this game, in our view, because they are in red-hot form, possess superior firepower, creativity and Nagelsmann's tactical nous.
Julian Nagelsmann has added some flexibility to the German set-up but his team still play an intense pressing game with high-tempo transitions and some crafty midfield rotations that can tear defences apart.
Kai Havertz is in lethal form for Germany and bagged two goals against Curacao in his first World Cup 2026 group game. Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich provide the creative spark and are the engine of the side for Nagelsmann to rotate around.
Ecuador can hold their own
