Gold Coast Knights are the clear favorites here at 1.75, with Brisbane Wynnum Wolves FC all the way out at 3.45 and the draw at 4.2. The head-to-head record makes the Knights obvious favourites, but the Knights' current NPL Queensland form and that of their opponents has us looking at the goals markets instead of the result.
The Knights have scored 14 times across their last five NPL Queensland fixtures, winning four of those games and beating teams like Brisbane Roar Reserves and Moreton Bay United away from home. They have completely owned this fixture since the clubs first met in the 2024 season and have no reason not to do so again on Saturday afternoon.
Knights have the firepower
A wet Gold Coast may suit the more direct Wynnum Wolves, but if the Knights can maintain possession, they will have enough to win this game regardless of the conditions. Alex Morrison's men are a slick unit on their day and can play a sophisticated 4-2-3-1 when they get the ball rolling.
Brad Inman is the game-breaker and a goal threat from both midfield and between the lines, while Tyson Martin has been deadly in the final third recently.
Cody Nancarrow adds another dimension to the attack, while the likes of Zach Maltby and Fernando Nash give Wynnum a couple of avenues to travel through for goal chances in the form of runs in behind, link-up play and the occasional end product.
Wynnum have been sloppy in defence
Wynnum Wolves have looked a little all over the place in NPL Queensland this term, drawing two and losing one of their last four league games, that loss being a 2-6 hammering by Queensland Lions. However, the Wolves have been in close, scrappy affairs in their other three and do have the ability to keep themselves in the game.
Jez Lofthouse is the sort of forward who can nick a goal even when his team is on the back foot, but Graham Harvey's side are a transition team at heart and will look to catch Gold Coast Knights' advanced full-backs out of position and exploit space behind them.
Gold Coast are in the upper-mid to top-four mix in the NPL Queensland table, while Wynnum are mid-table and in danger of being left behind by teams with more consistency in their make-up. But while both teams to score looks live at 1.28, the form of both sides suggests a Gold Coast Knights win is the most likely outcome, with 2-1 and 3-1 the sharpest scores.
