- Dundee have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five fixtures.
- Clyde have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five matches.
Clyde could cause an upset
Dundee arrive here in mixed form following their 0-4 home defeat to Everton in a friendly and a penalty shoot-out defeat to Ross County after a 1-1 draw, but they recovered to thrash Annan Athletic 5-0 away in League Cup Group D 2026.
The Dee are favourites to win at 3/25, with the draw coming in at 23/4, so the bookies are in no doubt that Saturday's hosts will take control here. However, we feel that this game could be closer than the odds suggest, showing that the away day blues are still a major issue for Steven Pressley's men.
Pressley is a system-first coach and sets his teams up to have a shape, so Dundee can be rigid in possession and in their defensive positioning, but the basis of that gives them a platform to attack from. Clyde boss Darren Young has his team set up in a similarly pragmatic, compact and direct manner, but his team are geared towards winning the ball in transition and punishing the opposition on the break.
Annan Athletic annihilation a positive sign for the hosts
Clyde are led in the attacking third by Kyle Connell, who has scored five of his side's nine goals in the last five games and looks to be shouldering the responsibility of being their main goal threat.
The Dee have Charlie Reilly, who has notched two of Dundee's six goals in the past five fixtures and has looked a spark of quality for the Premiership club in the early days of this campaign.
While Dundee are favourites, we feel that over 2.5 goals at 7/20 offers a sharper angle, and both teams to score looks a solid play at 19/20 if Clyde can get a punch in on the counterattack. The most likely result looks a Dundee win, but we think Young's side can keep it tight enough to keep the home fans on the edge of their seats.
