Glentoran have a mixed to shaky form heading into this opener as they failed to beat Kilmarnock and RFS at home before losing away to RFS at the start of July. Both clubs should look to control the game

This will be a big step up for them and while the odds for the visitors to win are tempting, the best play has to be for Glentoran to win at a shade of odds-on.
Glentoran have to manage the game properly here and will have a better chance of winning if they remain compact and patient. They have the focal point of Pat Hoban to play to, while Zeno Ibsen Rossi is another good acquisition at both ends of the pitch as he was on the scoreboard from defence. Limavady boss Owens will set his men up to be narrow, compact and disciplined, with the midfield metronome of Philip Lowry providing the nous and leadership to help this side through their first-ever Premiership campaign.
Billy Crellin will need to be a steady glove for Glentoran after a tough European run and if Limavady have the pace and bite to cause problems on the break, then this game could be tight for long spells. However, we are going for a home win in the 1-0 or 2-0 range as the most likely result here.
