Rylands have more to offer on their own patch
Warrington Rylands open as 4/5 favourites for Saturday's Northern Premier League Premier Division clash with Redcar Athletic at Gorsey Lane.
And the Steelmen, who are available at 11/4, certainly have enough to give the Blues a game if they can keep the contest tight and competitive. That's something Carl Jarrett's men seem to have done pretty well in their opening three fixtures.
Redcar have had a good start to the campaign in terms of points and are unbeaten after a 0-0 draw with Bury, a 1-0 win at Workington and a 1-1 draw at Quorn.
Steelmen are set up to suffocate opponents
They have conceded just once in three NPLPD games and appear to be a well-drilled unit that plays with the ball and have a pragmatic approach to control the game. Their philosophy is very much front-foot, so this should be a battle between structure and containment on one hand and high-tempo, relentless attacking pressure on the other.
Neil Reynolds has put together a good looking Warrington team and they appear to have a team-first culture with plenty of combative qualities. They like to win the middle of the park and turn games into a bit of a grind, which could suit them on their home turf.
Jake Burton gave them the lead early against FC United and he will be a livewire in the final third. Joe Riley, who scored in that 3-0 win, is captain and looks to be a smart link between midfield and attack.
Rylands may be the value in the draw-no bet option
Ryan Tioffo has come off the bench to make an impact for Rylands and the pace he offers alongside Burton will be a big factor if this game is tight and the Blues have the ability to snatch a late winner. Redcar's main striker talking point so far has been Adam Boyes, who got his first goal of the season against Quorn last weekend and his experience should ensure the visitors remain a threat throughout.
Both teams to score, at 63/100, appeals a little more than over 2.5 goals, at 7/10, as Rylands have looked solid defensively in their early league games while they haven't really clicked in the attacking third outside of the 3-0 win over FC United. Redcar don't look easy to score against, but they aren't impossible to break down either with Bradley Fewster having a proven scoring pedigree at this level.
A 1-1 score line is taken in correct score markets because this is a tight, low-margin affair and the draw at 129/50 also appeals as a standalone bet because that is the feel of the contest with one moment potentially swinging it either way. But Rylands have that little bit extra in terms of quality and are behind in the early-season form guide, so we'll take them in draw-no-bet at home.
