On paper, this is a pretty sensible call because league winners usually carry the strongest case and Arteta has clearly taken Arsenal to another level. But I do think people are underplaying how impressive the other candidates were, especially when you look at the expectations around them before the season started. Still, once you factor in the pressure, the title, and the fact that Arsenal have been knocking on the door for years, it is understandable. The annoying part is everyone will now pretend they had the exact same opinion all along and act like anyone disagreeing is just bitter, which is such a boring way to talk about football awards, and honestly the whole debate has already turned into a proper echo chamber
