Barça and Gordon? What is going on

The officials in these transfer stories always get away with it as well because nobody ever has to explain anything properly and then suddenly one report lands and half the fanbase is convinced it is gospel and the other half is calling it nonsense, and with this Gordon stuff it feels exactly the same, one day it is all quiet, the next day Deco is in London apparently swaying the lad and now everyone is debating fees and priorities like they are sat in the boardroom, it is absolute chaos and somehow the people who created it just move on like nothing happened

I honestly do not know what Barça are doing anymore because every time a new rumour comes out it feels like they are juggling three different plans at once and hoping one of them lands by accident, Gordon over Bayern and Liverpool sounds wild enough on its own but then you read that Deco was in London and supposedly convinced him and suddenly it turns into this whole saga where nobody can tell if it is serious or just pressure on Newcastle, and the weird part is people keep comparing it to Rashford like that somehow makes the whole thing more sensible when it actually makes it feel even more chaotic because if you are trying to save money then why are you floating such a big name in the first place, it just looks like classic transfer season nonsense where every club is leaking different things and everyone is pretending there is a grand plan when really it is just vibes and bluff

There is a footballing case for Gordon if Barça want intensity, pressing and off-ball work from wide areas. The problem is that the reported price makes this look like an awkward fit, so the club would need to be very sure about the role he would play.

He might suit a pressing side, but the fee talk is what makes this feel odd. That is the real sticking point.

On a purely tactical level, I can understand why a club like Barça would look at Gordon because he gives you energy, width and a willingness to do the ugly work that managers love. That part of the story is not crazy at all. But when you stack that against the money being mentioned, the links to Bayern and Liverpool, the Rashford comparison and the idea that Deco has had to convince him in London, it starts to feel like a very expensive way to solve a problem that might not even be the biggest issue in the squad, and now I am just sitting here thinking this could either age like genius or like complete nonsense, probably the latter if we are being honest tbh
