Big move from Barcelona if this is true. Rodri is one of those midfielders who changes the whole feel of a team, so you can understand why people are buzzing about it.

At the same time, this feels like the sort of signing that instantly changes expectations. Barcelona do not do quiet business, do they? If they really have got this over the line then it is going to be one of the biggest talking points around Europe.

Interested to see what everyone makes of it, both from a football point of view and from a pure chaos point of view. Massive statement if it sticks.

People are acting like this is some random hype signing but Rodri is exactly the sort of midfielder Barcelona have needed for ages he gives you control, he gives you calm, he lets everyone else play higher up and stop chasing the game all the time, if they have actually done this then it is a proper statement and not just for the headlines either because he changes how a team builds from the back and how they deal with pressure and people calling it overhyped are just looking at the name and not the actual football because this guy makes the whole side better even when he is not doing something flashy every five seconds

Barcelona fans are already acting like theyve won the league on the back of a transfer post mate it is absolutely mental how fast the whole internet goes from maybe to here we go to best midfielder in the world and back again and if this falls apart there will be ten thousand posts about how the club is finished and how everyone knew it all along and honestly half the fun of these threads is watching people lose their heads before the ink is even dry

Everyone in the comments doing victory laps over a headline like theyve personally negotiated the deal is hilarious mate football fans love a premature parade more than actual football

If Barcelona really have signed Rodri, that is a huge midfield upgrade on paper. He brings control and composure, which is exactly what a lot of top sides want in the middle of the pitch. The only question is how quickly he settles in and whether the rest of the team is built to use him properly.

From a tactical angle, Rodri would give Barcelona a proper reference point in midfield. He can receive under pressure, recycle possession, and slow the game down when needed. That kind of control usually makes the whole side look more organised.

if barca have actually got him then the whole shape changes because you can play through the middle more and not just rely on chaos wide areas and random hopeful passes, he just makes everything calmer and that matters more than people want to admit

barca fans are already posting highlight reels and making statue jokes and the transfer isnt even properly settled yet absolute scenes if this all collapses and everyone has to pretend they were never that confident

Barcelona signing Rodri would be one of those deals that makes you stop and actually think about what the team is trying to become because he is not just a flashy name he is the kind of player who makes the whole structure look stronger and lets everyone around him breathe a bit easier and that matters loads in big matches, but the way people online are already turning it into a victory parade is ridiculous because one announcement and suddenly every problem is solved apparently, which is nonsense, but if the club really have pulled it off then fair enough it is a serious bit of business and not the sort of thing you just shrug at
