Belgium mocking Trump after Lukaku goal

Belgium clearly wanted to make a point after all that noise and they had the football to go with it, so the dance just becomes part of the whole story rather than some random bit of cringe imo

people acting shocked like footballers have never celebrated a goal with a bit of wind up before lol the internet loves pretending it is above all this when really everyone is just dying to get offended and then post about it for attention

Had a lad in the pub last night saying the exact same thing about celebrations and how if you score you can do what you want, then five minutes later he was nearly spilling his pint because someone on the telly did a dance after a goal and he was shouting that it was disrespectful, proper classic pub football logic that, everyone is a philosopher until their own team gets wound up and then suddenly it is the end of civilisation, Belgium knew exactly what they were doing and the whole room would have loved it if it was one of our lads doing the same thing, that is just how football works mate

i was watching with a couple mates and one of them just started laughing because it felt so petty in the best way like proper international tournament nonsense, you can tell the whole squad was feeling it after the first 20 mins and once the goal went in the dance was just the cherry on top, we were all talking over each other saying it was either genius or embarrassing and honestly thats why football is class, one moment its a serious game plan and the next its lads doing stupid celebrations and everyone losing their heads over it

The pressing from Belgium is the bit people should focus on, because that is what set the tone and made the whole thing feel earned. If you are lively off the ball and force mistakes then the celebration becomes a bit of needle rather than empty noise, and that is the difference here

I dont think it was some masterclass of wit like people are saying, it was just a cheeky bit of mockery after a goal and everyone is overanalysing it because the internet cannot let anything be simple anymore, Belgium started well yes but that does not mean every celebration has to be treated like a tactical statement

Honestly I think people are making way too much of the dance itself because the bigger story is how quickly football turns into a theatre show the second someone does anything even slightly provocative, Belgium score, the cameras catch a bit of mockery, and suddenly everyone is debating intent, respect, politics, FIFA, all of it, when half of the fun is just that it is a daft celebration in a daft sport and if you are trying to read some massive meaning into every gesture then you are probably the one missing the point, the lads were clearly up for it, the crowd probably loved it, the other side probably hated it, and that is literally the whole point of a celebration like that

honestly i dont even mind it because if youre gonna wind people up then you need to show up and belgium did that early, the pressing was mad and the whole thing felt like they were trying to get under everyones skin from the start
