Class tribute to Kevin Keegan at St James’ Park

Seeing that just makes me miss when football felt a bit slower and more human because nowadays everything is clips and arguments and agendas but this sort of thing cuts through all that and reminds you why people care so much in the first place and I know it sounds dramatic but it genuinely got me a bit

The tribute worked because it was clear, respectful, and not overcomplicated. When a crowd recognises a figure like Keegan, the emotion does the heavy lifting, and both sets of supporters clearly understood that.

The best part is the away end getting involved because that is what makes it feel real rather than staged and you can tell the players and fans both knew exactly what the moment was about and sometimes simple is better than all the choreographed nonsense

I get why people are emotional about it but some of you are overdoing it a bit there were no need for all the hyperbole when a respectful tribute would have said enough on its own
