Croatia denied late against Portugal

i was watching it with my brother and we both just stared at the telly like idiots because it looked like the sort of goal that should have stood and then suddenly it was gone and everyone in the room started talking at once and nobody agreed on anything, croatia fans are going to be sick for ages after that one
 
all the people saying no touch are acting like theyve got x ray vision mate the replay was still a shambles either way and that is why everyone is losing it
 
I am going to say it and I do not care if people think I am biased, that Croatia player has been dragged through the mud here because the whole discussion has turned into blaming him for something nobody can even show properly, every clip is just a blur and then suddenly everyone is acting like it is some nailed on fact, if you are going to pin a knockout moment on a single touch then you need proof not vibes and not some half visible replay that leaves half the stadium confused and the other half furious
 
The real issue is the standard of evidence shown to the public, not just the final call. When a decision like this comes so late, the lack of a clear angle makes the whole process look shaky even if the officials had more information than we did.
 
The thing that gets me is not even the emotion of it, it is the fact that everyone is trying to work out whether the replay is enough and the answer keeps changing depending on which clip you are shown, and that is exactly why people get so angry with these late calls because it stops being about football and turns into a forensic argument over pixels, if the touch is there then show it clearly and if it is not there then do not leave the whole stadium hanging like this because now both sides feel hard done by and nobody leaves happy
 
From a football point of view the issue is simple enough, if the touch cannot be demonstrated clearly then the intervention will always feel uncomfortable. Late knockout decisions need total clarity or the whole match becomes about the review instead of the game
