Ferran Torres does it again for PSG

The key detail here is that the assist gets almost as much attention as the finish, which makes sense because the delivery was clearly the decisive part of the move. Ferran is getting the headlines, but the chance creation is what made it possible in the first place.

Every time this guy scores people start rewriting his whole career like he has suddenly become some unstoppable superstar and it is hilarious because the exact same crowd was calling him a fraud not long ago and now they are all in here acting like they always knew he had this in him, meanwhile PSG just keep collecting these weird little moments where someone from another club turns up and suddenly looks possessed and everyone starts making the same jokes about Ballon d or clauses and shark memes and all that rubbish, but honestly thats half the fun because football would be boring as hell without these random late equaliser meltdowns and the complete overreaction that follows

There is an obvious pattern in the comments and it is less about one player and more about how quickly fans build a narrative around him. Ferran does seem to produce moments that are impossible to ignore, but the reaction is also shaped by how much people want to compare him across clubs.

From a tactical point of view, the bench usage makes sense if the idea is to attack tired legs and keep the tempo high. He can be far more effective in that role than when he is asked to carry the shape from the start.

People are acting like this is some completely new version of Ferran when really it is just the same old cycle of quiet spells and sudden chaos, and PSG seem to have become the place where that chaos gets amplified because every touch feels like it matters more there tbh

I am not even having a go at the guy for finishing that chance because fair enough he put it away and that is what you want from a forward, but some of the comments make it sound like he has turned into some unstoppable monster when the reality is he has always been the sort of player who can frustrate you for long stretches and then pop up with something, and that is why people get so split on him, because if you are watching him week after week you remember the misses and the quiet games and then one late goal does not suddenly erase all that, so the absolute hero worship in here is a bit much even if the moment itself was funny and the pass was good and the reaction was massive and all that, because football fans love to swing from one extreme to the other in about thirty seconds and it is honestly exhausting sometimes

I was in the pub when someone shouted that PSG had equalised and half the room just groaned because everybody knew the thread would go mad, then a couple of lads at the bar started doing the full Ballon d or routine and one bloke who had clearly never watched him before was suddenly explaining his whole career like he had been studying it for years, which is exactly how these moments go, the game changes and then every casual opinion in the world appears out of nowhere and everyone pretends they had the read all along
