Infantino and FIFA term-limit nonsense

The whole thing is such a joke because every time FIFA gets dragged for something they act surprised like the rules are some sacred mystery nobody could possibly understand and then somehow the same people stay in power anyway and everyone just moves on until the next scandal and it is honestly exhausting to watch because you know exactly how it goes they will issue some statement, someone will say it is being reviewed, a few suits will nod seriously, and then nothing changes and the same faces keep hanging around like a bad smell

I was in the pub last night with a mate who barely follows football and even he was laughing at how FIFA always manages to sound like a parody of itself, because we were talking about this exact sort of thing and he said it reminds him of when a bloke at work keeps rewriting the rota so he can stay on the easy shifts, and honestly that is basically what this feels like, just with more money and more suits and more pretending it is all above board when everyone in the room knows it is dodgy as hell and the whole place needs clearing out

The broader issue is that FIFA's structure always seems to produce this kind of ambiguity, where the rules are either poorly written or interpreted in the most convenient way for the people already in charge. That is why every Infantino story ends up feeling less like a surprise and more like another chapter in the same depressing pattern, and honestly it gets harder to pretend there is any serious governance left at all because the whole thing just keeps circling back to power protecting itself and it is infuriating

If the term limits are genuinely unclear then that is the real scandal, because any organisation this big should have rules that are simple enough to enforce without a circus around them and right now it feels like the structure is designed to let the people at the top bend everything to suit themselves and keep the same old power bloc in place

Imagine building your whole reputation around 'governance' and then every five minutes FIFA is in the papers looking like the least governed organisation on earth absolute premium comedy from the world's least subtle corruption machine

I dont think this is as simple as people are making out because the headline is about someone asking FIFA to stop him, not FIFA actually doing anything, so half the outrage is based on a wording issue and not the decision itself and that matters if you are trying to be accurate

fifa are the same every time innit they make a mess then act like the mess is a misunderstanding and somehow the people in charge never seem to face the same rules as everyone else it is always the same old bollocks and it gets boring after a while
