Infantino and FIFA term-limit nonsense

If the term-limit rules can be bent this easily, then the issue is bigger than one man. FIFA needs a clear, enforced framework that cannot be stretched by whoever happens to be in charge. Until that exists, these stories will keep repeating themselves.

People are acting like this is just about one bloke but it is bigger than that because the whole structure around FIFA has always rewarded the same kind of behaviour and the same kind of people and if you think removing one name changes the culture overnight then you are kidding yourself because the system is built to protect itself and every time someone tries to push back there is another committee another lawyer another procedural delay and the whole thing just carries on as if nothing happened and that is why so many fans are fed up because it feels like the sport gets dragged through the mud while the people at the top keep their seats

The headline sounds dramatic, but the underlying issue is still serious. If there really is a clear term-limit violation, then FIFA should be held to its own rules, but I would still wait to see how the wording and process are handled before assuming anything changes.

I swear every time I see FIFA in the news I already know Im going to be annoyed before I even open the thread, and then somehow it is always worse than expected because the same names keep popping up and the same power games keep happening and you just sit there thinking how is this still the state of the sport

This is exactly why people dont trust FIFA, because the rules always seem flexible when the right person benefits, and the rest of us are left reading headlines about clear violations while nothing actually changes imo
