People are way too harsh on the side that is losing the argument here because this is not some scandal or some embarrassing act, it is a celebration and it should be treated like one, the players have every right to take part in a big public moment and the fans have every right to turn up and enjoy it, that does not make them naive or cringe or whatever other nonsense word people want to throw at them, it just means they care, and if you have ever seen a proper football town or a proper football country you know these things matter because they build memories and identity and give people something to hold onto and some of the replies acting like this is beneath them are honestly so joyless it is unreal
