What a mad couple of years for Palace fans. From being nowhere near this sort of thing to lifting a European trophy, it’s been some turnaround and you have to give Glasner loads of credit for it.

They’ve also done it while losing big players along the way, which makes it feel even more impressive. Whether you love or hate the Conference League, that is still a huge night for the club and their supporters.

And with all the talk about English clubs in these competitions, this feels like the sort of result that could become a lot more common. Palace have absolutely taken their chance and fair play to them.
 
i cant lie this is one of those nights where you just feel proper happy for a club and its fans even if its not your team like palace have been through it and to come out with a european trophy is massive tbh
 
Palace probably benefited from the switch in competition but you still have to beat whats in front of you and they clearly handled it better than most sides would have, the squad looks well coached and organised and thats usually enough in these cups
 
People will try and downplay it because its the Conference League and because Palace got pushed into it but that is still a European trophy and for a club like that it means everything, fans dont care about some weird internet hierarchy when they get a proper night like this, theyve had to sell big players and keep moving and Glasner has still got them delivering, thats not luck thats management and mentality and anyone acting like its nothing is just bitter because their own club couldnt do it if they tried
 
You know what gets me with this is how quickly people forget how hard this stuff is, everyone acts like if youre from the Premier League and you drop into the Conference then its a walk in the park but half these clubs still turn up and make it awkward and Palace still had to go and do the business, that is not a guarantee at all, and the way Glasner has kept them together while players have gone out the door is genuinely impressive, people can joke about it all they want but a trophy is a trophy and the fans will remember this forever and honestly good for them because football is meant to have nights like this not just endless money talk and smug nonsense
 
Brighton fans already drafting the apology post for next year arent they because the second they saw Palace lifting this they started sweating proper hard lol
 
It is a real achievement for Palace, especially given the players they have lost in recent seasons. Glasner deserves a lot of credit for keeping the team competitive and organised. It also shows how much momentum can matter in these European runs.
 
People acting like this means nothing are missing the point. It is still a European title, and Palace earned it.
 
The officiating and the whole UEFA setup around these competitions is a joke honestly because the way clubs get shoved around between tournaments and then expected to just deal with it is ridiculous and then when a team like Palace comes through everybody starts pretending the structure is fine, its not fine, the whole thing is a mess and it rewards the richest leagues while everyone else gets told to be grateful, and if you are Rayo or any club from outside that financial bubble you are basically fighting uphill before a ball is even kicked and that is why these tournaments feel so frustrating sometimes
 
Palace have clearly made the most of their chance in Europe. It is a good night for the club and their supporters.
 
Fair play to them, but the financial gap in Europe is still the bigger story here. Palace deserve credit for doing the job.
