That Ronaldo free kick attempt against Croatia has done the rounds for all the obvious reasons. He didnt score, but the reaction to the effort says everything about how much attention every one of his moments still gets.

It is one of those clips that is funny whether you love him or hate him, because the ball going where it went is probably not what anyone was expecting. Absolute scenes either way.

I get the jokes but if you are a Croatia fan you probably just see a big name taking a set piece and putting it in a horrible area and that is the whole story, no need to act like he has suddenly forgotten how to play football because of one attempt, he has earned the right to take them and sometimes the ball flies off in a weird way and people online act like the man personally ruined their afternoon, the obsession is mad and the clip is funny sure but it is also just football and the lad is still trying to make something happen for his side so the pile on feels a bit much tbh
 
I watched it expecting a decent hit and then just sat there laughing because the whole thing happened so quickly and so stupidly it almost felt unreal, one of those moments where you know the replay is going to be everywhere for hours and you still cant stop watching it
