- Germany have won their last five consecutive matches without a draw or a loss (W5).
- Curacao's recent away results are three defeats and one draw in their last four away matches (W0, D1, L3).
Germany are in great form
Germany are in excellent form, reeling off five straight victories ahead of their opening World Cup, Group E game against Curacao on Sunday.
Julian Nagelsmann's tactically flexible and high-pressing system has hit its stride with Germany reeling off a series of high-energy performances.
Joshua Kimmich will set the tempo and transition play for Germany in the midfield once more, while Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala provide the creativity and penetration that allows them to unlock any defence on their day.
Curacao's away form is a concern
Dick Advocaat is a shrewd and experienced tournament campaigner and he has done his best to get Curacao ready for the big dance, but the form and quality gap between the sides looks insurmountable.
Curacao's last three away games have resulted in defeats and they've lost all of them - 5-1 to Australia, 4-1 to Scotland.
They did thrash Aruba 4-0 at home, but Rangelo Janga's finishing is the only real attacking threat Curacao can pose and that will come from quick counter attacks and set pieces.
Leandro Bacuna will also provide some experience and moments of individual flair in the centre of the park, but Germany are just a class apart.
Germany to get a wide margin win
Germany have won nine and lost one of their last ten in all competitions and that run should continue in emphatic fashion in Houston.
Curacao are in pretty mixed form coming into this tournament with three wins, three draws and four defeats in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
Advocaat has packed them in to be compact and disciplined, which should ensure they absorb Germany's pressure for long periods on Sunday, but it will be an inevitability that the game will eventually open up.
Germany have scored an average of 3.80 goals per game at home in all competitions, so they'll have no issue putting Curacao down.
Curacao have scored an average of 2.14 and conceded 2.00 goals per away match in all competitions, so we're likely to see Over 2.5 goals, but Germany should keep Curacao off the scoresheet at some point.
Both Teams to Score - No are an extremely generous 1.42, while Over 2.5 goals are a similarly skinny 1.16.
