- The main selection won in 1 of Dianella White Eagles’ last 5 matches.
- Armadale failed to win their last 3 away league games (D1, L2).
- Both sides are in inconsistent form (W1, D1, L3) yet both can be brilliant and both can be abject.
Dianella White Eagles are no easy beat
While Dianella White Eagles have suffered some disappointing results in the NPL Western Australia 2026 so far, they have been competitive in every single fixture, even those in which they have fallen short.
Sitting in eighth with just 12 points from nine rounds, Dianella White Eagles have not been able to build any momentum this season, beating Stirling Macedonia FC 4-3 away in a ripper game before being beaten at home by Balcatta last time out by three goals to two.
This will be a welcome return to NPL action for the White Eagles after a 28-year absence, but with just one win, two draws and one defeat from their four home league games this term, conceding four goals, Ian Ferguson’s men have much to improve if they’re to push up the table.
Armadale can be dangerous
While Dianella have been inconsistent, they have shown defensive lapses at home and have some dangerous attacking players who can hurt teams on their day. If Ferguson can just get his team firing at both ends of the field then they should be a real force in this division.
Armadale are on another journey altogether under the new leadership of John Baird, who is implementing a completely different style of football to what his team has been used to.
Baird’s players are direct, physical and they press hard in order to force fast transitions from defence to attack. The ball is usually served up to the strikers quickly, which makes for a fascinating tactical clash with the much more structured, possession-based style of Ferguson’s Dianella.
Armadale are also in inconsistent form, but have been capable of brilliant results like the 5-0 hammering of Balcatta on home turf a few weeks ago, only to follow that up with a 1-0 defeat in their last fixture away.
Going for goals
The odds for over 2.5 goals here are just 1.29 and that is because of the potential for both of these sides to get into the mix and score goals on Saturday. The hosts are in the best form and are favourites here at 1.69, with Armadale 3.86 and the draw 4.0.
Given Dianella are the favourites, they should be expected to win this one at home, but given Armadale’s inability to translate their home form into results on their travels, we’re sticking with the home side to edge out a high-scoring game.
