- Moggill have won three of their last five league matches in the QPL3.
Moggill are main men in Metro
Moggill will need to continue their top form in order to win the title this season, but a solid result against near the foot Redcliffe Dolphins on Saturday will keep them on track for a top-four finish and a finals push.
The hosts' form has been excellent of late, winning three, drawing one, and losing just one of their five previous QPL3 outings. A 4-0 victory over North Lakes United was followed up with a 3-1 triumph over Yeronga Eagles, and they'll be keen to take advantage of a Redcliffe side that sit near the foot of the table.
Moggill's style of play is based around high-pressing and possession-based football, looking to control the game and overwhelm teams with constant attacks and wide overloads. Shane Brotherton's men have enjoyed the fruits of their labour in recent weeks, and are expected to be comfortable against a Redcliffe team that has conceded 7 to Moggill in their last meeting.
Redcliffe look to avoid another thrashing
Redcliffe Dolphins' form has been mixed at best, suffering three defeats, one draw, and one win from their last five in the league. Their only win in the last five came in their most recent game, a 5-2 win at Logan Roos, but the defence has been the major undoing of the Dolphins all season. There is no single out-and-out goal-scorer for the Dolphins, but their attacking play did finally show some promise last time out.
That being said, Redcliffe Dolphins set up to contain first and foremost, and their reactive approach is unlikely to be successful against Moggill's high-pressing, free-flowing attacks. Redcliffe can be dangerous on the break, but may struggle to stay compact against the hosts' constant attacks.
Moggill to win, Redcliffe to contain
With Moggill's recent form and the 7-0 scoreline in their most recent meeting hanging heavy in the air, we're backing the bookies' favourite here with a -1 handicap. Moggill have enough attacking talent to put a few past Redcliffe, but the visitors are unlikely to get on the scoreboard.
Isaac Garcia Gonzalez found the net in Moggill's last 3-1 win, but he's just one of many in-form attackers for the home side. With Moggill playing proactive, possession-based football and Redcliffe set up to be as contained as possible, we're taking both teams to score - No on this occasion. The odds are good value and given Redcliffe's issues against better teams, we're expecting a 2-0 or 3-1 home win.
