- PSG have won four of their last five Ligue 1 games and are on a two-game winning streak in the competition.
- Nantes are winless in their last five Ligue 1 fixtures (D2, L3).
PSG have the edge at home
Paris Saint-Germain face a struggling Nantes side on Wednesday night, but home advantage should see Luis Enrique’s side take three points with a degree of comfort at Parc des Princes.
PSG have dominated the Ligue 1 2025-2026 season and currently top the table with an impressive 63 points from 27 matches. Since taking charge of the Parisians in July 2023, Enrique has overseen the installation of a high-pressing, possession-based tactical identity with players frequently interchanging positions to dictate the tempo and flow of matches.
Nantes are near the bottom, sat 17th with just 19 points from 28 games, but have struggled for form over the last few weeks and have failed to win any of their last five matches, drawing two and losing three of those fixtures. They drew 0-0 away at Metz and 0-0 away at Auxerre, sandwiching a 2-3 home defeat to Strasbourg.
Nantes lack the strength to trouble PSG
Vahid Halilhodzic has done a decent job since taking over in March 2026, but this week’s visit to PSG is a tough assignment for his side, who will need to be disciplined and compact to avoid being overrun by their talented hosts.
Nantes have been most effective this campaign when they have kept things simple and counter-attacked in numbers, but PSG are so dominant in possession and the players are so fluid in their interchanges, that the Canaries may not get too many opportunities to play on the counter-attack. This fixture is a classic test of which approach is more effective - dominant possession and pressing vs compact defending and counter-attacking, but PSG’s superior quality should tell on Wednesday.
Bradley Barcola has been PSG’s biggest attacking threat this term with ten goals in 22 Ligue 1 appearances, but Matthis Abline has been Nantes’ top goalscorer with five in 27, while his team have failed to support the young striker of late.
PSG have won three and drawn two of the last five meetings between the sides, while Nantes have not won in their last two visits to PSG, so we’re backing a home win at 1.23.
Paris’ attacking talent should see them home
We’re also backing Both Teams to Score - No in the match result market at 1.95 because of PSG’s tendency to keep clean sheets and Nantes’ inability to score on the road. The Parisians have scored 34 times in 13 home Ligue 1 games this term, an average of over 2.6, and the visitors have managed just 10 away goals in 14 attempts, so we’re taking Over 2.5 goals at 1.28 as our correct score prediction.
