- Perth have lost three straight, conceding one goal per game in the last two A-League games.
- Adelaide have won two of their last three visits to Perth, most recently winning 4-0 eight months ago.
Two lowly sides look for a morale-boosting victory
A-League 2026/2027 bottom-two Perth Glory (12th) and Adelaide United FC (11th) face off at HBF Park, Australia, in a crucial early-season fixture at the bottom of the table.
The hosts have yet to collect a point from two games and are in desperate need of a response after back-to-back 2-1 A-League defeats to Macarthur FC and Brisbane Roar.
The Reds come into this game off a 3-0 home win against Wofoo Tai Po and a 2-1 away win at Bangkok Glass Pathumthani United, but they were beaten 2-1 by Sydney FC in the A-League today.
Back an away win in the A-League
The Reds are a narrow favourite for this one at 2.45.
That's because both sides have had a mixed start to the new season. The hosts have won one, drawn one and lost three of their five matches across all current competitions. The away side have won two and lost three of their opening five.
Adelaide are the narrow favourites at 2.45, while Perth are 2.62 and the draw is 3.6. They are all close enough to make this look a toss-up.
The tactical clash should be exciting
The Glory are more likely to play a fast-paced game with quick transitions, vertical speed and counter-pressing. That's been their main strength this season and it's been deadly when it's worked, but they've looked like a one-trick pony when the plan is disrupted.
The Reds are much more suited to the ball, but they have that possession-friendly side with a bit more organisation. Airton Andrioli's men are more coordinated in their pressing, can play with a more organised structure and can control the tempo when in possession.
Craig Goodwin is their main spark with three goals in the past five and he's been the main man carrying the ball into the final-third. Perth may be able to frustrate the visitors, but they're not the best defensive side and Adelaide could pick them off at the back.
Over 2.5 goals at 1.7 makes plenty of sense with both of these sides set up to attack, but BTTS at 1.6 is our main selection in this game. Perth Glory have been on the back foot and Adelaide have the better recent H2H.
